This contemporary art gallery is tucked away in Surpass Court in Xuhui District. Its large gallery space of 2,800 square meters was designed by renowned Montreal architect Israel Noel, with moveable walls and lighting that are rearranged to best showcase the pieces. There is also an outdoor terrace and an additional adjoining space for parties.
The affable Canadian director/founder Martin Kemble is dedicated to supporting not only established but also emerging artists from around the world, focusing on the development of innovative ideas and raw talent and urging artists to explore the identity of Shanghai in today’s society. The gallery gives prominence to fresh creativity and high quality regardless of medium, seeking out original and meaningful works that maintain both value and interest over time. Their exciting shows change every couple of months and opening parties are among the best in town.
