M97

Originally established in 2006, M97 Gallery has since been consistently exhibiting contemporary and ne art photography that spans all genres of the medium. This rather large gallery has since expanded to a main gallery in Jing'an and a project space within the former French Concession area. On occasion, the two spaces exhibit congruous shows of the same artists' work. They represent an eclectic range of important emerging and established artists, all working within the photographic medium.

Their space at M50 is a 300-square-meter space with a 200-square-meter main exhibition room. M97 puts on an active program of solo and group exhibitions as well as maintaining a continued presence at Asian and international art fairs. In the 10 years since the gallery's establishment, M97 has been dedicated to helping set standards and expanding understanding and appreciation of the history and art of photography in China.
