Rainbows of Learning

Kids love creating fun, colourful crafts all year round. So, let them play with ALL the colours with this beautiful rainbow craft. They'll love making rainbows they can hang, paint, and show off to their family and friends, and you'll love watching them learn all about colours and colourful play. A great story to begin the craftivity is "The Rainbow and You" by E.C. Krupp. Or for pre-schoolers, try “Rainbow Colors Peekaboo!” It is a touch and feel flap book. Guaranteed rainbow fun!

Rainbow Craftivity

You will need:

• Coloured paper

• Scissors, glue sticks

• Cotton wool and clay

• Marker (felt-tip) pens

Method

1. Firstly, the children will carefully use scissors cutting the coloured paper strips into small squares. This is a great activity for fine motor skills.

2. Secondly, we will use our trusty glue sticks to paste the small pieces onto the rainbow. Encourage your child to use recycled materials when choosing the paper for the rainbow.

3. Use light clay or cotton wool to make clouds below the rainbow.

4. Use felt-tip pens to colour the clouds above.
