Shanghai Family magazine celebrates its first Coffee and Chats event

Shanghai Family and Parents&Kids’ first ever coffee and chats event saw over fifteen members of the community and their children come together to enjoy a relaxing morning of stretching and mindfulness. Big thanks to yoga instructor, Evasana and Lorna Jutton from LunaMindfulness for their support in making the day a complete success.

 

  

 

 

United Family Healthcare’s Day of Blood Donation

Working with Shanghai Changning Blood Management Office on 6th December, Shanghai United Family Hospital gathered staff alongside Chinese and foreign volunteers from the general public together to donate life-giving blood. United Family Pudong and Puxi Hospitals Tree Lighting Ceremony

On Friday 6th December patients, guests and staff enjoyed a wonderful tree lighting ceremony at United Family Hospitals in Pudong and Puxi. Alongside DIY Christmas Craft Workshops and performances from Shanghai American School and Dulwich College Shanghai pupils, guests got to participate in a lucky draw, take a photo with Santa, and enjoy a variety of delicious snacks.

 

  

 

Yew Chung International School of Shanghai revealed its new A-Building

On Wednesday 13th November, the YCIS Shanghai community came together to celebrate the unveiling of the newly built, LEED-Gold-Award-winning  A-Building at the YCIS Shanghai, Puxi Primary (Hongqiao) Campus. The thoughtfully redesigned building features a large atrium for school assemblies, performances and parent workshops, administrative offices, a spacious library and cafeteria as well as specially designed ‘Learning Community’ spaces that encourage collaboration and cooperation amongst students and teachers. Gametastic, Urban Installation ‘TETROMINOES’ Lands in Shanghai

On Tuesday 26th November, bespoke urban installation ‘TETROMINOES’ landed onto bustling Yuyuan Road – offering a throwback to the 80s. Playing on the repopularisation of iconic games and pop cultures, these unique geometric formations reimagine the dawn of the digital world to offer a playful space for creative exploration. Composed of varying arrangements of fluorescently coloured interconnected squares, TETROMINOES is the perfect stage for local bystanders and neighbouring primary school kids to capture Instagram-worthy selfies!

Body&Soul hosts TCM food tasting event

On Wednesday 20th November, holistic health specialists, Body & Soul, hosted a food tasting event to help women of Shanghai become more familiar with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concepts and how these can help support a healthy diet and lifestyle.
